History
Called Despero the Conqueror by his people, this monster ruled his native planet of Kalanor until he was overthrown by the Justice League. Since then, he has sought the destruction of his enemies, the Justice League. His long history of conflicts with the League led him to undergo a ritual involving to the Flame of Py’tar. This transformed him into a a mindless, massive creature powerful enough to hold his own against the entire Justice League.
Despero eventually regained his intelligence, however had lost his physical form and possessed various bodies as he battled Supergirl and Young Justice. Eventually, Despero’s psychic form coalesced on the Abyssal Plane, a dimension nestled between the cracks of reality. There, he encountered Johnny Sorrow, and in a cauldron of hate, the two united against the heroes of the JLA and JSA, embarking on a plan to unleash the Seven Deadly Sins into the modern world.
Despero masqueraded as the President of the United States for a time, using his abilities to control others to force much of America’s military to fight on his behalf. Eventually, he was overcome by the Justice League and was exorsied from the body of President Luthor.
Despero once more regained a physical form and can be expected to return to wage war Earth at any time.
